Conifer Family Tree
Just like a tree has different branches fed by the same roots, our team has different areas of expertise fed by the love of building. Too much?
Not at Conifer. Our team loves silly jokes, purposeful work, thoughtful design, and genuine connection.
The Conifer Crew are a humble bunch, so keep in mind these bios were lovingly written by their manager
Mark Albosta
Site Supervisor
Mark has spent the last 25 years in the building trades. His skills range from custom homes, cabinetry, decks, fencing, and now we have him wielding a clipboard like the best of them.
Mark has an aesthetic eye for proportion and detail and can be relied upon to create the right build for the project.
He and his wife moved to the Oregon Coast in 2018 from the Yosemite area in the Sierra Nevada where he also worked as a rock climbing guide and musician.
Conifer is glad he hasn’t run off to the mountains or joined another band. Mark’s easygoing communication style and industry expertise make him a natural leader and we feel lucky to have him.
Josh Poe
Site Supervisor
Josh brings deep experience in high-end residential and commercial construction across Oregon, with a command of building materials that borders on encyclopedic. Whether the question is about performance specs, sourcing, or long-term durability, Josh has likely worked with it, installed it, or tracked its evolution over the years.
A familiar face in the area, Josh is glad to be back in his hometown and channeling that expertise into the work Conifer does best; thoughtful builds executed with precision and care.
A surfer, snowboarder, and a father, Josh is an unflappable force on our Crew. We are thrilled to have him on our team and are even more excited for when he inevitably starts driving a kei truck to the worksite.
Jake Hineline
After spending five years as a construction laborer, he joined Conifer as a carpenter. Jake has been apart of our team since the onset. He is now not only a strong leadership presence, but retains his reign as our resident goofball despite strong competition.
He delivers high-quality work and customer satisfaction. Jake is a quick study and passionate about his craft, quickly becoming our lead finish carpenter.
His memory is also a lock box. Where did we store that one tool after the last build - Jake knows. What color paint did we use for that shed- Jake knows. What type of screw did we buy for that one side project three years ago- seriously, somehow, Jake still knows.
When he is not working, Jake likes to spend quality time with his family, volunteer coach for youth league flag football, bake the crew cookies, and hang out with his adorable Toy Poodle, Bear.

Dwayne Taylor
Builder
Dwayne brings a broad foundation in hands-on labor and a genuine enthusiasm for the work. He's the kind of person who shows up ready — in any weather, for any task — and finds satisfaction in seeing a project through from start to finish alongside his crew.
What stands out about Dwayne is his drive to keep learning. Construction is a field that rewards curiosity about equipment and technique, and Dwayne brings exactly that energy to every job site.
Dwayne is often our resident DJ and therefore de facto motivator. His good humor, choice of music, and beautiful singing voice has gotten us through many a rainy day.
Conifer relies on his style of leadership to yoke us together and as a natural collaborator, he thrives when the whole team is pulling toward the same goal.
Eli Capracotta
Builder
Eli is a recent addition to the Conifer team and has hit the ground running. He is a self-starter with a keen attention to detail. Eli comes to the crew with a background in permaculture and landscaping that shapes how he thinks about a site — from grading and drainage to how a finished project fits into its surroundings.
In addition to keeping track on the health of all the plants Cal keeps brining to site, Eli is a natural with the fine brushwork of painting and has been instrumental in helping determine paint colors for our builds.
He works independently, takes the craft seriously, and cares genuinely about doing right by the land.
We are happy to have him aboard our team for his strength of character, sharp wit, and willingness to roll with the ever changing needs of a foundation to finish build crew.
Cal Blake
Owner and Developer
Cal has spent his career finding opportunity where others see complexity. With a sharp eye for underutilized sites and a direct approach to getting things built, he co-founded both Conifer Construction and Columbia Gorge Capital with a focus on workforce housing in the communities that need it most.
In this line of work, nothing is ever easy, but Cal is used to hard work. As a former firefighter and emergency services medic, Cal is an expert in identifying and prioritizing his efforts.
When Cal isn’t leading the Conifer Crew through morning stretches and squats, Cal is considering how Conifer’s build sites will grow over time. Raised by a master gardener, he takes the lead in Conifer’s landscaping thinking about what plants will be the most sustainable and bring the most joy to the site.
Cal brings a focused, strategic mindset to every project — and holds the team to that same standard of intentionality.
